The Animated World of Breasts, Eyes, and Unnaturally Colored Hair part 2 - Do you have...a Waifu?

(After pouring himself out in his previous post, Rev Namtubb will now begin writing about relevant crap)
Fact: Japanese entertainment is popular the world over. I mean, even Mexico likes Japanese cartoons and games. One time I went to that country and they were showing Ranma 1/2, in Spanish dubbing to boot! It caught me off guard really, even though Ranma 1/2 is very popular. And admittedly in Mexico they were showing another popular anime, Dragon Ball. Maybe Mexico was just showing the popular stuff then...maybe that 'fact' I stated up above is not really fact then...:'(

But wait...!?

Noooo wai...
Okay, I know you hate me for that youtube video, and yes I only did a quick search on google. But I think we can look around and see that Japan is reigning as the king/queen of entertainment...and that probably is a bit of an exaggeration. But they're doing pretty darn good, me thinks.

As a result of the popularity of anime, games and other types of Japanese media, cultural phenomenons are born. And there is one cultural phenomenon I'm most interested in. I don't know if it has an official name, but for now I just like to call it the Waifu Complex.

And I end this entry with a question to ask you, dear reader-in a video game or cartoon or book or Japanese comic (also known as manga), was there ever a character that you wished, wished to yourself, wished aloud, wished to the creator almighty (or whatever ideal you believe in) that this character was real?...because you loved this character.

Hooooo crap that was uber creepy on my part, huh. Part 3 coming soon.

The Animated World of Breasts, Eyes, and Unnaturally Colored Hair-Part 1 - I bit about myself ('cause I'm a self centered-ass)

For my first entry a little boring back story;
There I was, five year old Buttman, too innocent to realize that in the coming future I would write my name incorrectly and backwards and leave it like that.
Back then the Ninja Turtles were awesome, I aspired to be the next Power Ranger, the best cartoon theme in the world was the Teknoman theme (and I didn't know it was originally Tekkaman Blade), and Eureka's Castle was the best show with puppets ever. Sesame Street? What the heck was Sesame Street?

However, this was really only on Saturdays, and on weekdays there was nothing. What to do?
VIDEO GAMES! What kinds of games? RPGS! Why? I dunno...but hey they taught me to read :3 And back then the best RPGs came from a country in the Pacific called Japan. They also produced interesting cartoons (more on that next)
In short, Japan saved me from a life of boredom and YES I realize that several of the shows I watched and games I played are not Japanese in origin.

Japanese Anime!
Japanese anime, meaning Japanese animation, right? Animations...meaning cartoons...right? Cartoons...a medium of entertainment.
See where I'm going here? No, I don't intend to call you dumb. All that break down was for myself heh.

The point is, Japanese anime were a great influence on myself as a kid. They were entertaining and provided something unique that American cartoons just didn't provide. Action, exaggerated characteristics, androids. American animation just seems to be obsessed with anthropomorphic animals. True, Japanese cartoons had some of those too but they also had hawt robot girls. OooooOOooo! <3

But then...I started to grow 'out'. I eventually put on a pair of glasses, lifted my head up high with a pompous, "Ah ha!" and started to 'analyze' anime.
Stay tuned for Part 2!

Welcome ^^

Hi there, welcome to this little blog o' mine. Name's Rev Namtubb. This here is a little personal blog where I'll be examining the fantastic world of anime and the characters that inhibit them. Well, not just anime but video games, comics, books and anything else that manages to catch our interest through such lovable characters.]
Here and there I'll go out of subject, probably because of my other interests that I feel are worth mentioning, if that's alright.

Overall, I hope you readers will participate and share some experiences. Thank you.
